As a graphic designer I like to deliver intelligent branding and considered design to companies that have a passion for what they do. I work across many different mediums including visual identity, digital media, publications, branding, marketing, social media, exhibition and information design. I love doing great work with great people!
Right, this is where I write about my touching but amazing rise from the days of Crayola fisted toddler through to hard working student and graphic design professional, drawing inspiration at every step and wanting nothing more than to become what I am today.
Well it's not much like that. I didn't have any Crayolas as a child. And I wanted to be a bus driver as a youth. Despite that I
managed to obtain a degree in Graphics at the University of Wales, Newport. I have worked as a designer in the publishing
industry managing projects ranging from advertising to layouts to designing new newspaper and magazine titles.
I then worked as Studio Manager for the in-house design studio of Leekes and the Vale Resort; creating and delivering
marketing concepts online and in print and overseeing the continuing branding evolution of two of South Wales' most
prominent but contrasting brands.
From there I joined a creative agency delivering brand identities for companies across the UK. Along with brochure design, catalogue production, direct mail and exhibition design. My design philosophy is led by my passion for good typorgraphy, clean uncluttered work and focus on what makes a company stand out among their peers.
More than just a logo (although I can do just logos), I help companies with all the elements of a brand identity. I craft all the visual elements around a logo to clearly communicate what makes a company different in an engaging way.
Flyers, brochures, business cards, stationery, booklets, icons, logos, newspapers, magazines, promotional items, exhibition stands, posters, folders, vehicle livery. In my many years' experience I have designed for them all.
Drawing was one of the first things I could do and I've never stopped. I can produce illustrations of different styles and when necessary or suitable, incorporate them into my work for a more individual style and approach.
I love printwork! Seeing the end product is a very satisfying experience. I work closely with print houses to choose the right quality of material to best compliment a design. I've worked on everything from cards to signage to lorry liveries.
Rather than just making a more visually pleasing experience, I pay careful consideration to how a user will experience a website and its content. With a grasp of HTML and CSS I can put together simple, appealing websites.
From coming up with strong, creative concepts and working them through to considered, high impact materials; I help brands communicate through an honest tone of voice and a clear, uncluttered visual approach in all types of media.
